چکیده

A huge volume of waste is generated by natural and human-made disasters rapid urbanization that leads to the demolition structures reaching end their service life. Using recycled aggregates in concrete producing reduces environmental pollution decreasing disposal this material landfills preserving unreasonable exploitation resources. This manuscript presents results an experimental program aiming study effect on physical mechanical properties roller compacted (RCC). Dreux–Gorisse mix design method together with modified proctor test were adopted prepare a reference mixture three derived mixtures where coarse replaced 50%, 70%, 100% aggregates. The RCC evaluated means water absorption gas permeability tests while using compressive, tensile splitting 3-point flexural tests. showed both ability increase proportionally replacement ratios. compressive strength class was approximately constant for all developed at age 28 days. For substitution ratio 100%, drop only 6% recorded. reduction more pronounced than about 10% It found increases time, it can be estimated any analytical models conventional hydraulic concretes. Based obtained results, concluded up 50% don’t negatively affect RCC.

Performance of High-strength Concrete Made with Recycled Ceramic Aggregates

Recent scientific concerns to achieve sustainability in construction have suggested the implementation of using recycled aggregate in concrete because it has the potential to reduce the demand for extraction of natural raw materials and decrease the volume of wastes landfilled. In this respect, this study aims to investigate the suitability of using ceramic tile (CT) and ceramic sanitary (CS) w...

Life Cycle Assessment of Sustainable Concrete Made With Recycled Aggregates

The results of an environmental study on concrete manufacture that follows the standard protocol of life cycle assessment are shown in this document. The study has been done for seven types of concrete: one conventional and six containing cement kiln dust (10%), marble sludge (10%) and demolition waste (10%, 80% and 100%) respectively, in partial or total substitution of natural aggregate. Six ...

Investigating the Effect of natural Pozzolans on Mechanical Properties of Roller Compacted Concrete

Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC), is a concrete with zero slump, which is used in damming and road pavement. Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement (RCCP) bear heavy traffic loads and severe weather conditions. This type of concrete is due to its economic and environmental capabilities, including reduced construction and maintenance costs, longer durability and longer lifetime, as well as environmen...

Investigating properties of fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete made of recycled aggregates

Self-compacting concrete is a new high performance concrete with high ductility and segregation resistance. In recent years, construction material manufacturers have focused their attention on lightweight concrete and have strived to use lightweight concrete, if possible, in load-bearing parts of buildings. Concrete with both self-compacting and lightweight properties is favourable in this cont...

Mechanical and Physical Properties of Polyester Polymer Concrete Using Recycled Aggregates from Concrete Sleepers

Currently, reuse of solid waste from disused infrastructures is an important environmental issue to study. In this research, polymer concrete was developed by mixing orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin, artificial microfillers (calcium carbonate), and waste aggregates (basalt and limestone) coming from the recycling process of concrete sleepers. The variation of the mechanical and physica...
